The Truckee Tahoe Air Show & Family Festival is coming to the Truckee airport on Saturday, June 24th, 2023.  This is a free event that includes aerobatic performances, military and experimental aircraft on static display, a science expo, food, vendors, and free speaker presentations.

Bringing the entire community together, the Air Show presents a day of diverse entertainment for the entire family.

Children ages 8-17 have the opportunity to get a free airplane ride on Sunday June 25th. They must have a parent or guardian sign them up at the EAA building at the airport on Saturday, June 24, for a flight to take place the next day. Rides are offered by an EAA volunteer Young Eagles pilot for Sunday, June 25th. For some kids, this flight might just change their lives, making them aspire to pursue an educational and/or career path in aviation.

Summertime airshows offer an incredible multisensory experience. The roaring engines, whirling propellers, and the unmistakable thunderous sound of military aircraft create an immersive atmosphere. Additionally, the colorful smoke trails, wingtip pyrotechnics, and dazzling aerobatic maneuvers provide a visual spectacle that is both thrilling and beautiful.

Airshows also provide educational value by offering insights into aviation history, technology, and innovation. Featuring static displays, visitors can get close to aircraft, interact with pilots and crew members, and learn about the technical aspects of flight.
